This Mike Tyson looks almost as jacked as the most notable Mike Tyson. Tyson, the boxer, was 5’10, 230, while the baseball player was 5’9, 170. Ok, the baseball version definitely wasn’t as ripped. In addition, he didn’t have quite the face tattoos as the boxer. That said, this Tyson is sporting some pretty awesome facial hair.
Tyson (baseball player from here out) must have been a super scraptastic middle infielder as he scraped together 3,200 plate appearances over 10 years with a career .241/.285/.327 line. Aside from the name and the facial hair, though, the only reasonably interesting thing that happened during his career was that he was traded for Donnie Moore in 1979.
Just three years after the trade, he was released Cubs on March 15, 1982, two days after I was born.
